Perhaps a 951 (944 Turbo) 8" Fuch, but not a 911 one.

Just a side question but.....why do you want to? Is there a specific look you are going for?

The reason I ask is, sometimes front wheels can be to wide which creates new problems with handling. I wonder....... what would Vic Elford do?

I think he would run the widest wheels he could fit, 1-2" wider in the back than the front.
Here's an example of 8x10x17 wheels -- a Fuchs center welded into a one-piece rim -- on a 1973.
Tires are 245 and 275.
The wheels are made by Lindsey Racing.

"...what would Vic Elford do?"
put on 16x6s all around so it would ALWAYS be in a drift?

Jack,
thanks for the closeup view of Mike Lindsey's workmanship. They look nice.

I hope to see that black beauty in San Diego at the vintage races. I believe it is held in September. There is usually a group of guys from L.A that come down.
