Question First Post - Atlanta Porsche Service & Sales

I am toying with the idea of getting an air-cooled car I can track and would like to solicit information as to what are preferred places to service the car once I acquire it and places that may sell older model Porsches. I would be really interested in a place I can trust to do a PPI. I would also like to hear from other members in north GA (I live in Roswell-Marietta).

I am in the process of doing my homework but I believe I would like to purchase an SC model or 80's Carrera.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Bill,

I had International Performance Center in Roswell (770-998-2589) do the PPI on my car last year, they came recommended. They usually have cars available as well.

PPI was $100, but didn't include compression check or leakdown. If I were to do it again, I'd have them do those as well.

There's a group of 911's getting together up in Suwannee at the end of this month, I'll PM you the details.

HTH,

There is also Roock in Roswell. http://roockusa.com/

Allen,
When are you meeting up? Are you going to do a mountain run?

Sorry, I was trying to avoid posting the "other" forum (is that frowned upon here?). Here's the details, final activity plans haven't been decided, but a mountain run is part of the discussion:

See link above, but right now it's scheduled for 7/26, details aren't finalized yet though. I'll try to post details as they firm up and the date gets closer.....

Bill,
I have a 79 911SC Targa. I have owned the car for 3 years. I found it searching www.traderonline.com. I have had all the work on the car done at Rylands, Inc. in Marietta. They are honest people and Ryland is "extremely" knowledgeable about these cars from years of experience. I would definitely recommend him. You can reach them at 770-951-9305 or wrmillsiii@aol.com. Good luck.
