Greetings;
I'm a 86.5 928 owner, new to the 911 forum who will begin baby sitting an 88 911 Commemorative Edition while its owner (son) is in Baghdad.
I never crawl under a vehicle solely on jack stands anyway. They're probably robust enough, but I prefer to set the car up so that each raised wheel is on a wooden pedestal(s). Each 17" long pedestal is made made from four 2x10 sections screwed together. Pedestals can be stacked to get the car quite high off the ground, so that I can safely do most any kind of work. Right now I have a 928 24" off the ground on jackstands with wheels removed, but pedestals are under each lift point as a security measure. No worries here.
Regards
Mike
