Always someone wanting to rain on the parade! If he likes it, then that's
all that matters!

I was recently checking out a vintage VW bus with a engine out of a GT-3 stuffed in the back. Nobody was screaming "frankenbus". The super successful TAG F-1 engine developed by Porsche is a V.
Personally I would not move from a flat 6, but I have no problem altering suspension or adding non stock body parts like a duck tail and front spoiler.
Some of us are concerned with the purity of the breed, others are interested in alternative engineering and experimenting.
Live and let live guys. :-)

Ryan, this guy is right here on rennlist in the 944 section. He's taken some crap, but it looks to be going OK for the guy. I have no problem with what he is doing.

i'm all for the chevy engine. I've seen the owner of hybrid9s.com spend about $12K at Huntly Racing and Speed force racing to make very unreliable horsepower. My other buddy had a 2.7L turbo engine that kept grenading every other month, turbo broke, head gasket, this and that. We spent two summers not being able to cruise because the car was always down. You forgot that the original motor is an audi and has audi stamps all over it, so does that make it not a porsche from the factory?

I have an issue with these "hybrids" as well, only I don't crap on their owners. The deal today is POWER and these flat 6's ain't cutting it. I personally would not do this to my flat 6's as I enjoy them for what they are , good power and good handling and ooooh ,that sound. When I want to shred asphalt and hand asses, I jump in my shark.

Default nice to have a choice!

i have kinda one of each and the blue one is my daily driver! the blue one has almost 600 chp and the black one has 500 chp, both are similar in suspension and brake upgrades and a reasonably close in weight. the blue one has better weight distribution due to the all aluminum dart 434 sbc with 930 transaxle and weighs just a touch over 2250 pounds. the 930 is fun but for late night crusing the 71 coupe is hard to beat!

A friend of mine did something like this back in the early 1970s,--but put a Wankel engine into a 911.
