Wow, surprised I can still log in to this site!

SPD, the car is still running strong 2-3 years into the project, the clutch is on its way out, that's about it.

I would highly recommend the project to anyone with a 3.2 G50, really transforms the car, SOOOOO much faster.

No additional mods, I'm waiting for my new garage to be built then it will be project after project!

Spence,

That's gotta be the best looking Carrera EVER!!! Super nice. I just got my car a few months ago...89 3.2 in Guards red and have already been doing research on cheapest way to get to 325 hp or so, but 360 hp might just be the ticket. Your car sounds really good in the video. I would have thought the Turbo would mute the engine. Did it? Doesn't sound like it. Maybe the headers are letting the sound come though??

also curious if something like this would be viable on a 964 3.6 motor (currently in my 911 SC).

CM,
Did you do the conversion to 3.6 your self? What gearbox did you use?
Are you happy?

no, i bought it as is, coversion was done by T&D motorsport.
still retains the G15 gearbox. yes i am happy
also very happy with the 3.6 haha. engine is standard except for a fabspeed exhaust.
with that said i don't know how it compares to the 2.7L or 3.2L, having never owned either! previous owner, and others who have driven the car, say it is a wonderful improvement though.
to be honest i'll likely keep it N/A but warm it up a little when it comes to rebuild time, as it is such a sweet driving car as is.

just curious about a turbo conversion like the OP's, so i know what my options are in years to come.

Sorry guys, must have missed the notifications on this one.

To answer Scott's question, you have a Wong chip, I think Steve Wong has some turbo mapped chips, it might be a cheaper solution to get yours reflashed. Maybe just sell it and get a stage 1 (.5bar ~ 7psi) or stage 1 upgade (.7bar ~ 10psi ) chip from Protomotive. I used the Protomotive fuel pressure regulator too, many use the BEGI, it's more adjustable but takes some setting up, the Protomotive is plug and play. Mounting the fuel pressure regulator is the fiddliest part but it's not that hard.

BTW: you need to run an intercooler or water meth injection to run over .5bar, .7bar makes 400chp...

These figures sound very high but have been proven by Protomotive builds many times...

Thanks for the Kind words Alfonzo! Hey Frank!! I'm still around!! I replied to your message a bit back...

Any other questions ask away.

would i be right in saying that to fit an intercooler in there you'd need to slap on a turbo model wing on the back? or can it fit elsewhere?

it's a tight fit but many have come up with different solutions to get an intercooler under the lid, the turbo tail would be the most effective way. I do have a turbo tail but I like the tailess look so I will most likely buy an intercooler from turbokraft, they have one that fits.

Ha, as in Justin Wood? He's a funny guy, is he back in QLD?

Lots of guys have turboed SCs using 930 CIS parts, they're pretty easy to come by as a lot of people EFI their turbos in the US. The SC, 3.2 and 930 engines are all very similar...
