Excellent 84 Targa may be for sale
I am thinking about replacing my beautiful 84 Targa with a 964 Turbo. Before formally listing it, I thought I would mention it here first and let you guys have the first shot.
This is a black/black car with 41k original miles. The previous owner had the car from 1985 to 2007, and it has all records all the way back to the original sales order.
About 6 years ago, the previous owner shipped the car from the east coast to the Andial shop in California. He had 3.4 liter cylinders and pistons installed, as well as sportier cams and Autothority mass airflow. The black Fuchs were repainted, and the targa top was rebuilt. It has a nice sounding stainless steel exhaust on it.
I have owned the car since April, 2007 and have put about 1200 miles on it. The only mods I have done are the headlight relay bypassing the stalk, and a new stereo system (Blaupunkt Hamburg, 4 speakers, underseat sub). I also changed the rear pads.
This car is excellent inside and out, and runs absolutely great. The Targa top has never been folded. It does not leak, though in honesty I have only had it out in the rain once for twenty minutes. The car is suitable for collecting, show, and/or daily driving. Always garaged.
I will put up a website with pictures soon. I am asking $30k, which is much less money than would be spent restoring a $15k car to this condition.
