Default Anyone using the high torque starter?

I'm pretty sure my starter is humped and I was looking at the high torque starter that is available as a replacement. Any feedback would be welcome.

Thanks
Steve

Steve: I put one in my PCA Club car, first track event it failed (no crank hot) exactly the same way that Bosch units do. I had no difficulty getting a warranty replacement, and it worked perfectly, even in the unbelievable Las Vegas and California desert heat.

I have one in mine now. It hasn't given me a lick of trouble, but it doesn't exactly sound "high torque" to me. Let's call mine "lighter weight" & leave it at that.

Thank you Pete
Thank you Fred

I am going with the "lighter weight" starter and sending my bosch out for repair as a spare

MUSS, I have a high torque starter, no problems what so ever. It was actully cheaper than the Bosch unit.

I saw that Performance now sells a heat jacket for the starter.

I have notihng but trouble from my bosch which I don't know the age of it since I only have my car 6 mos.

It looked like it might have been rebuilt and since the restore was only 9k ago, im suprised it would fail.

Now it looks all beaten up from getting "tapped" with my pimp hammer. now its just dead.

I'll get under and see if the connections are tight (disconnect from battery, right?)

Im going to also get a high torque but also get the fly looking thermo jacket for it and see if that does it.

I have a "lighter" weight starter... Was less than Bosch Rebuilt. No issues.

The hammer, starter, or the pimp
