Congrats, my other car is an M3 too - a '96 Evo Saloon (321BHP over on this side of the pond). The only difference is that my M3 is my trackcar and my 911 is the daily driver. Well done on a great choice of second car. That engine is something else.

Check your radiator neck and your waterpump. The radiators have a neck that will blow all of a sudden after 50k or so. The waterpump may have a plastic impeller that will disintegrate with age. The dealer may have replaced it with another plastic one or preferably one with a metal impeller.

Congrats, I'm sure you'll like the car as a daily driver. My wife has a 98 vert M3 and I just got an 88 E30 M3 as a daily driver.

Nice acquisition. Always liked those.

Does one generally get a PPI on a B-car?

Very nice

Water pump impeller issue is the same with VW's.

Must be a German thing...

Translated in German - Plastikantreiber

Sounds like something meant to break

Nice, I owned an 86 325es, 99 Z3 Coupe and now I drive a 95 325is daily. I've found it to be very reliable and easy to work on. Mine only has 84k miles and I'm the second owner so that helps.

I agree, replace the water pump if it hasn't been done yet. Also, the thermostat housings fail. There are metal replacements available.

Nice score!

I had a 97 M3 and loved it, never gave me problems in the 27k miles of ownership.

I sold it because family expanded, after almost 3 years without it I eventually bought an 87 Carrera cab with 46k miles and couldn't be happier.

Enjoy the M3, they really are super fun cars and fun to wrench on.
One of the few cars that make you look good on the track LOL!
