JackOlsen,

I'm thinking of putting my track tires on a Thule rack as well ('87 Carrera Coupe). Any words of wisdom? Is there a reason you oriented them in a diamond instead of a square? Did you try standing them sidewall to sidewall with them sitting in a "trough" of two front-to-rear rails? I haven't tried any setups yet because I only have the wheels at this point with no rubber.

[QUOTE=Boatsonthebrain;6031476]Great pix guys, thanks! I'm looking at possibly purchasing an '84 targa however I don't 'think' it has rain gutters Can anyone with a targa chime in here?

I checked the Thule site and it shows a system for '84 Targas...

re: the net - I'd just get some material and make one up - use stretch material for the edging

Here's a set of track tires on top of a 1972 with a Thule rack.

Great shot of BBII, but that sure doesn't look like LA...

That's on the drive from Los Angeles up toward Reno-Fernley, a track in Nevada. Its an almost 600-mile drive, and if you take the highway that leads up the east side of the state, you pass Mount Whitney and much of the Sierra Nevadas. I think I was up above 8000 feet three or four times on that drive.
