68000 dollars seems like a bit of a bargain? Get a 997 for that price.

Apples and oranges. The early cars are rapidly appreciating and new cars depreciate. You could spend $30-$50K on a very nice early 911 that will likely double in value in just a few years or $80K on a 997 that will be worth half that value in a few years. Having said that, I hate to see the early cars going to investors. They are truly enthusiast cars and should stay in the hands of people that value them as such. Just my opinion.

I am shocked by the price it sold for. If we could only convince Barrett-Jackson to do for Porsche what they did for the 70's Plymouth, Dodge, Ford, GM, etc., we would all have $200k+ investments in our garage :-).
