I have this pipe from Fabspeed. It gets rid of the muffler but NOT the cat. You can run it in conjunction with a cat bypass and that is VERY loud. If you keep the cat as I did it is loud but sounds great and you get nice pops and burbles on the decel. This is the exhaust in place on the "exhaust sounds" link in my signature and you can hear the in-car version on the "82 Euro SC" link. It's the funnest $70 I've spent on a car.
Also, here is in-car video from my friend's car when it had a cat bypass and this muffler bypass we're talking about. Extremely loud and the video doesn't do it justice. That's me in front of him in the white 911 and you can barely hear my car.

This must be loud. I have the cat bypass and a Bursch exhaust and mine is loud. When I recently changed the muffler gasket I cranked the car with the muffler off and the car sounded like a dragster.
A friend of mine has a megaphone he is going to give me, but I think that would just be crazy loud with a cat bypass.

Yes, cat bypass with a megaphone will sound like open pipes, ie extremely loud.

The pipe is on! As well as feeling quite chuffed with myself for successfully completing a very basic job (go easy on me, I'm honestly proud of myself!) I am also very happy with the results. Just taken it for a good blast and the verdict is thus:

1. At tickover and low revs it is incredibly loud.
2. Above 4000rpm it sounds like it is tearing a hole in the space-time continuum.
3. On heel-and-toe downshifts the pops and bangs are gorgeous.

Verdict = AWESOME!

Now just waiting for the neighbours to get their petition together...!

Excellent stuff! congratulations! I remember the feeling when I first heard that sound very fondly. Its almost indescribable.

Now you have all weekend to go and find some nice long tunnels. you will be both appalled and elated all at once if you hit redline in a tunnel with the windows down. the noise it truly astonishing.

Who worries about the windows being down when you have a Cab?

Not sure this is a good idea with CIS. Something about exhaust tuning and back pressure and exhaust valve stress.
