Now Porsche will have the incentive to replace and upgrade the painting equipment that will probably covered by insurance

60 cars/day as an estimate coming out of Stuttgart. Assuming a five-day work week, that's about 40,000 cars/yr. I guess that seems reasonable for all models...

How about a paint upgrade. The workmanship is fine. The water base stuff leave a lot to be desired.

Interesting comment, but you know what I've noticed? I think the cars that have been built during the last few years, that have the water-based base coat, start to look mighty fine after they've spent some time in the sun and get waxed a couple of times. Granted, the cars look less than optimal on the showroom floor, but after they're a few months old - wow. Am I hallucinating???

Maybe this is part of Porsche's secret plan to stop the plummeting depreciation of 997/987 models.

For a lot of the less than wealthy, that buy the cast offs of the wealthy, like 25 year old Porsches, in 2033 there will be a slight shortage in the used market. Peter, I am noting this on my calender and will let you know how it goes--- if I reach 93 years, and for a bargain, it is worth the try.
