Post Strange tank in front fender 73.5 911T

I am doing some driver side fender work on my 73.5T. I came across a tank in the driver side fender. Plastic, clear, looks like it would be a washer container, but it;s not. A total of 2 hoses I think and no where to fill it with anything. What is this thing? Any ideas??

Do you have a windshield washer solvent tank?? If so, where is it mounted?? It should be just forward of the driver's side front wheel and behind the headlight...is this where the "mystery tank" you describe is mounted??

Maybe a 73.5 911 is different from what I describe?? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Could it be a later-model (or non-Porsche) charcoal canister?

It is up near the front w/ the horn, battery boxes ect. I haven't had the car long, and in the trunk was a disconnected washer tank. This thing has no blue blue stains (although there are other color fluids. More importanly it has no where to fill it w/ anything. Maybe a overflow tank of some sort?? The charcoal canister is in place, so its not that

BTW: Would you mind emailing me your wiring diagram for 964 tail on your car Jack?? Thanks

I think that is a gasoline overflow tank, and the lines run to the charcoal canister. Not exactly sure how it works, esp. since there is an overflow tube from the tank, but anyway...

I looked at my 73 and sure enough I had one also. I checked and found that it looks like it is part of the evaporative emission control system.
