Default Conversion from the water cooled camp.....

I've been busting my best friends' chops for a few years now about his affinity for the Porsche Water Pumper. He's had 944's and Boxster S and was looking to add to the lineup.

He's been trying to get me to upgrade into a 997S or 996TT for sometime.
I won't budge and consider my 993 4S a life time keeper. Needless to say the bantering and debating gets heated over a few beers when we wrench on the cars. I told him to be a man...get a real 911 and dump the BoxsterS.

He caved !! So after months of looking he found a cherry '89 Cab. White on Black.....32k on the clock-bone stock and a super clean PPI with the right price----$29k.

We got up yesterday morning at 6am (6 degrees !!) and drove from Richmond to Reddington, NJ to pick the car up and drive her back. Beautiful car and I must say, if I ever picked up a 2nd PCar.......this would be it. Red over Black would fit nicely next to the Arena 4S.

Anyhow, figured you guys would like the story and enjoy the pix.....

Next time yer drinking, you can still tell him to get a real--non-cab--911.

Kiddin'. Nice car. What a sweet road trip with a mission! I hope he knows what a true friend you are. At least till something breaks!

heheh.

(Man, I completely hate that we're locked in with cold and snow, and all I can do is dream of driving my 911 until the ice age passes).

Nice looking car.

However, there is somethign odd about those front turn signals, can't quite put my finger on it.

Now that's a real Porsche. I just couldn't get my wife to pull the trigger on white. Isn't there a bumper sticker that says: "Virginia is for Porsches"???

I sold my Boxster for a 1978 911. Some days I really miss the Boxster. It's a brilliant car. Nothing unmanly about owning one. Looks like your friend did well. Price seems on the high side, but if everyone walked away happy, it's a great deal.

Well, looks like your friend got the cooler car . Time for you to start shoppin'. BTW, I have two friends looking for a G50 right now, if anyone knows of some available cars out there, please shoot me a pm.

neri~ good catch - as you can see, my '89 turn signals are definitely different - maybe its a European grey market car??

You can never go wrong with air cooled. Plus it is one less fluid to leak
