changed the original 16x7 & 16x8 dealer polished and painted fuchs
for some 16x7 & 16x9 all white center fuchs
not sure which ones i like better, any opinions?

i like how the 9" fill up the rear fenders better
but i like the 205/50 on the front over the 205/55 on the white center wheels

Definitely after, but not because of any width change but rather the white color and the colored crest. I think chrome is hideous, especially on Fuchs. I also love that stripe along the side and fender, but I dont know if this stripe is a "no-no" on a metallic car like mine.

i hate chrome on Fuchs too. Unfortunately the White center wheels were chromed at one time. I will have to check on having them stripped and refinished.

what stripe are you referring to? my car is plain white

thanks for this........i'd always wondered what mine would look like with a similar treatment. besides $$ of course, i've held off also because the car has all black trim there's nothing for the chrome wheels to latch on and blend with. wrong era basically...

Yea that does look awesome, but its a wide car, mine is a narrow body. Where can I get these stripes and how much do they cost? Does it lower the value of the car?

84turbolook,

For what it's worth, a couple pics of my '83 SC. Looks like we're related! FYI, spoilers are original. 6F, 7R at delivery were upgraded to by the dealer to 7F, 8R. Afterward refinished at Jerry Woods by a couple PO's ago...white with chromed rings. I'm not sure of the wheel finish on the car originally. Spats look original/as delivered, but just my guess. H1 w/ chrome trim rings by a PO.

Funny, but i have thought about if I'd prefer black Fuchs with polished rings, no spats, and a white trim ring on the H1's. Perhaps a little cleaner look? Not sure.

Mike

It's unfortunate that someone chrome plated the Fuchs. They are very strong and LIGHT and adding the chrome violated that. Your AFTER shots look great!
