PICTURES BELOW:
I've been searching for a replacement to the unsightly yellow oil cap and couldn't find anything that I particularly liked; so I designed a couple myself and had them commissioned. I have about 8 per design for a total of 16 available. I think this is a great upgrade to the engine compartment; for show or everyday use. I designed these pieces to be handsomely unique, functional, and sophisticated to compliment the same attributes of our fine cars.
The first pictured was commissioned it to appeal to the 911 guys. The flared ends of the three prongs were design cues taken from the hood pulls of the old Porsche 356 as a way for 911 owners to commemorate their model's lineage. The second pictured was designed for the 928 group and features a simple tapered, three-pronged design. Both designs fit the 911, however. They are being offered for sale through the Rennlist classifieds as well if you want more information.
Details:
*CNC Machined 1061 Solid Billet Aluminum
*Acid dipped, washed, then Clear Anodized to prevent corrosion
*Proper threads, softened a bit to prevent cutting
*Petroleum resistant o-rings (like the factory uses) secured in a pressure fit channel groove
*Lightweight (4 oz) to prevent undue stress on the oil filler neck gasket
*Height of the original part no. was duplicated so there's no interference with the hood or other components
*Easy twist on/off design
*Non-vented
These are a direct replacement to the factory part 944.107.091.01 and 944.107.191.04 and fit the following models:
911(964,930,etc).........1983-1994 (w/ threaded cap)
944............................1983-1991 (incl. turbo)
924S..........................1987-1988
968............................1992-1995
928............................1985-1995 (S/S4/GT/>S)
Price: $79.99 (+7.95 s/h in 48 contiguous U.S.)
I tried to keep the price as low as I could, but the cost for tooling, manufacturing and finishing these weren't cheap.
Private Message me for payment instructions or any questions you might have. Thanks for your interest and I hope you like them.

Indeed, that is a valid point. I can say that I own a 928S4 (as you probably detected from my avatar) and these V8s are well known to get pretty hot. I've driven with my cap now for about 5 weeks and I checked it several times for this reason and it never gets beyond warm. I easily can remove the cap with my bare hands after driving in southern Mississippi heat (highs in the upper 70's).

Thanks to the terrific group here at Rennlist I have sold out of the straight, tapered design as shown in the 2nd picture.
I have 7 pieces remaining in the flared design, made especially for the 911 community.
Thanks for making these a success.

Some people had concerns regarding the cap reaching really high temps.
The product was just tested by Erling in the 928 group. After a run with his V8 928 engine the cap only gets "warm" and can be held in your hands; not even close to hot. The plastic oil neck doesn't conduct heat like it would if it were a metal/aluminum/magnesium component.

After the initial success of my little project, thanks to my Rennlist friends here, I sold out of the initial batch. Many of you who were left without one asked me to make a new batch, so I did.
Because college has me consumed with studies, I've entrusted them to another friend of ours here on Rennlist to sell, Roger Tyson. In my experience he's a super fast shipper and a friendly, easy-going guy to do business with.
Of course, I still welcome any questions or input you may have, so feel free to contact me if you wish.

I'm with dshepp on the originality issue! And i just ordered two replacements and I too was ticked that
the"OEL" was "OIL". But that's okay 'cause I don't throw nothin' away, I'll clean 'em up and reuse 'em again one day. Hope you sell all of your caps and I do believe they would make an engine compartment "pop"! Mark
