Default Wow, I don't get people sometimes!!!

So I took time out of my day to get my car to a PPI at the local dealer, at the end of the day I pick up the car and the guy who did the inspection talked to me. He said he found 4 tiny things wrong with my car "door locks dont open together" and "backdated heater and no AC". Anyways before I left he told me its one of the nicest 911s he's seen in a while and has a strong engine. So I go home and go through all the stuff with the buyer. He calls me 2 hours later and backs out of the deal. He stated that the car didnt have the heater blower and that floored him and took him by surprised. I explained that I had the motor and that the heating was just backdated. He said it would cost 500 dollars for a new heater and I again assured him that I had it and it would probably cost 150 dollars to get the tubes and install it back in the car. He said no it was too much, and this is after he spent 300 dollars on the PPI. Are people just flat out retarded? Seriously compression and leakdown passed with flying colors...."exceptional" were the mechanics words. What a hassle and for nothing. I'm so ticked, especially since there was absolutely nothing major wrong, maybe 5 or 6 $50 dollar fixes. Oh well I got a PPI for free and know my car is in good health.

That's the bright side. You can share the results with any future potential buyers.

I'm sure the heater was just his excuse. He must have gotten his *** handed to him by his wife over the car and that was just his way of backing out. I'm sure you could have got the heat back to stock in a couple hours with a trip down to performance products. Why were you paying for the PPI anyway? He wanted the car, he should be paying...what did I miss? Well, I guess you have a great car on your hands. How about I drive out there .....No, tomarrow is Miramar (San Diego) for a box presentation. some day I'll get out there and see your car.

EDIT: OK he paid for the PPI then didn't want you to fix the fiew things? What ever!!!! His loss. did you ever think it was me just punking you? Wouldn't that be a hoot.

I didnt pay for the PPI....thats why is said free...he paid 300 bucks, and then backed out for a 100 dollar tube....he kept saying the heater motor is gone even though I kept saying I HAVE THE HEATER MOTOR...people are just slow sometimes. He said he wants to step back and think about it....in 3 days he'll come crawling back and I'll probably say no, then he'll really be pissed haha.

This is the kind of stuff that happens when you try and sell a car, get used to it. Sounds liek you have a great car, another buyer will surface don't worry.

I don't really care if another buyer surfaces I am ok with just keeping the car, I just don't like being inconvenienced and then getting a bull$h!t story like "the car doesnt have two tubes". What a joke. More likely I think is the case the his mechanic friend (not the dealer who did the PPI) told him that a clutch job would cost him 2000 bucks and he got scared. The dealer had said the clutch is a little noisy check his records for last clutch change. We all know this as the G50 rattle and my clutch was replaced 25K miles ago. People just need to be honest. Funny part was that I told him "look before you pay 300 dollars for an inspection I will tell you that SOMETHING will come up, it always does" and he said he knew that. Then some small things that don't even amount to 300 dollars worth of work scare him off. I don't think he'll even buy a 911 now, if he does its going to be mine....doesn't look like the type of guy that would pay for multiple PPIs. When he comes back im going to say the price is now 1000 dollars more for an "inconvenience fee" haha that would be funny.

Yea I hate tire kickers, and this guy made no sense to me, why pay 300 dollars for a PPI then bitch about 200 dollars worth of work. I even offered to drop the price by a few hundred bucks. I think he just realized that he's buying a used car and not a diamond, he's just a nooblet.

Sorry to hear about the buyer backing out

I think he just chickened out or found another car to look at.

My heater system is backdated with SSI's and I end up roasting in the cockpit with only one heater hooked up.

Good luck

Only $1000?? Hell, I would tell him that it has gone up by more than that!
