Well, I have been squeezing some hours in on the build. I've got the chain boxes on and the cams timed. I did get the rockers all in tonight, and the valves adjusted. Tomorrow, she gets her oil cooler mounted, cam covers and valve covers on, then it is a complete longblock.

I'm putting my intake setup back together so it can get mounted, and I've got to steam clean my headers. I'm making progress....

Well, today I made some safety collars for the pressure chain tensioners, installed the distributor, machined the RH chain case for the new lower spark plug @ # 4; got the chain covers, valve covers and the oil cooler on. This is what a complete 3.2L longblock looks like. Yeeeeehaaaaa!

Thanks guys. Yes, as dsmith said so precisely, I hope to tear it up slowly over many, many years. I hope to get track rubber and crud on the bottom end VERY soon...

My latest update......after being friggin SICK this week, and virtually laid up from Monday until finally getting out a bit yesterday, progress had been nil this week. But, thanks to multiple presciptions of modern drugs, I got a bit done today.

I got my new alternator in permanently, and wired. I also got the shroud on as well as the heater duct and the block-off plate on the RH side. Then, one last flip upside down to put the headers on, and I'm now ready to install the intake assembly. I've started reassembly of the intake, and may get it done tomorrow, barring any problems. My goal is to put this beast back in next weekend!!

man... I wouldn't install and drive this engine if I own it. I have to put it in a glass case to look at as entertainment.

It will be permanent...not worth getting a divorce over.

We're just not sure where, Orange County or northern SD (Escondido-ish) area. If I drop my demand for a 3 car garage, and the expanded real estate available based on our budget, my wife would probably go for OC. I'd just have to explore the possibility of some form of offsite third garage....

Ahh, but that only covers one of our senses, sight. I need to cover the other 4 too!!

Ed, given the choice of Escondido-ish(Tri-City) or the OC it would have to be an ocean view in the OC to trump Escondido. Just the roads to Julian and roads to nowhere would win out over pot holes and population. Forget getting a job.

side note: I got a PM from a fellow rennlister that only lives about 5 miles away asking for a referal to a mechanic. We talked on the phone for 20 minutes or so and turns out he has an SC and a 930. Here is the kicker.....he has a 6 car garage, one stall has a pit, and another has a four post lift. He said when they were looking for a house this garage sealed the deal.
