Default IX XI

I was riding my Harley a couple weekends ago and saw this 911 with the license plates: IX XI. I know I've seen this somewhere before! It was near the Illinois/Wisconsin border near Kettle Morraine.

Dude, it's roman numerals...

IX = 9
XI = 11

9-11

Sorry man, I had to. Bad day.

EDIT:
As an amazing coincidence... there's a "Show a 911 with Minilite wheels" thread on the same page. Go to the website, http://www.minilite.co.uk/ and look at their logo.

My license plate reads: '88 IXXI
My g/f's son's friend saw it one day and asked: What's an "Icksy" ?

It's funny how states vary with what is/isn't allowed. I couldn't go with a simple IXXI, and I don't think IXI IXXI would have been valid here in NC. I got mine before they let you check/order via the web, so I'm standing in line (with 10 people behind me), and they kept trying (and shooting down) my ideas one-by-one

Technically, of course you're correct, but I was going for the visual symmetry of IXXI, and I've never referred to my baby as a "9 hundred and 11" either...makes her feel old for some reason

Mine reads IX88XI

Rarely does anyone get it.

Even when after a bit I say "Think roman numerals", they just continue to stare. After they start scratching their head, I explain it to them.

Guess it's just too esoteric.

You've got some nice roads out that way. But alas, I wasn't that far east...

I actually saw a 997 Cab in Manchester the other day with that plate as well.
