original porsche luggage is so expensive and so rare to find.
i was thinking about getting some made.

maybe someone has some better pictures?
does anyone know any routes of investigatiion for getting some made?
and if we do find somewhere that can do it - maybe we buy sets as a group and reduce the cost?
it's just an idea...
(but i really want some! i just had some straps made to hold them but they look a bit lonely without bags in.)

There are a couple of companies producing replica luggage.
Check on one of the Mercedes Benz Club sites or forums. I know some of these guys have had replica luggage made for the 190SL, 280SL, and 300SL Roadsters.

red67: For some reason I didn't see your post earlier. For what it's worth, at least in Southern, CA, luggage ordered with a new 911 was almost unheard of. Different parts of the country may have had a different experience, but for myself, I don't remember seeing more than two, maybe three, sets of factory luggage over my career. For some reason it never caught on (most owners of '65-89 911s, who I know, have kids, and there is very little opportunity for a couple to take a road trip in a 911), so do lot's of homework regarding possible sales before you invest too much capital in the project! That said, your idea sounds pretty cool, it'll be interesting to see if you find any buyers out there.

contact John Dixon at the taj ma garaj (thats what John calls his private collection). He has an immaculate all original 67S w/ 29K original miles that has every option immagineable with it from the factory (the original owner was an oil executive with more money to burn than one could think of). anyways, contact John, he may be able to take detailed pics of teh luggagge for you as well as answer any questions you might have. http://tajmagaraj.com/Museum/67_911_S.php john AT tajmagaraj.com
