Default Turn signal flashing too fast

Last year I replaced the front and rear bumpers and the new front bumper only allows for 1 light instead of the 2 (1 marker light and 1 signal) on each side that it had before.
Since the replacement the signal light flashes twice as fast as before. Does anyone know of a fix for this? The light now functions as both a marker/parking light and a turn signal.

BTW car is an 88' w/TRE IROC front bumper

The flash fast symptom is typical when either the front or rear bulb on that side is burned out. Probably something to do with resistance, are you sure that all four of your T/S bulbs are flashing? Also, are all four T/S bulbs dedicated to operate only as a T/S?

It could also be that the flasher is starting to crap out. Have you tried replacing it yet to see if that has any change? Generally if you increase the total number of bulbs that the flasher is having to operate, it will make it flash faster, due to the flasher contact inside is getting hotter quicker due to move current moving through the flasher, causing it to break contact quicker, because the heat build up faster with the heavier load on it. Good luck, Tony.

I'll check the flasher unit, But this happened the day that I installed the OEM light back into the bumper. I did not increase the number of bulbs I decreased the number by 2. Here is a before and after pic of the bumpers

That's the problem - not enough resistance. The flasher "thinks" that a bulb is burned out and goes into warning mode.

Just so that I'm clear, the lamp housings in the front bumper each have two bulbs; 1 x park light bulb (small), and 1 x T/S bulb (single filament), correct?

No just 1 bulb in each housing. It acts as both the parking light and the flasher

Peter is correct on this one. If you put the removed bulbs back into the system the problem will go away. I hope you left the wires in place.

Phil: Will the lamp from each side, that you're not using, fit into that bumper? If yes, that will allow you to go to a two-bulb configuration (separate your T/S function to a dedicated bulb), which will correct your rapid flasher.

Yeah, I am going outside to mess w/it to see if the housing will hold both bulbs. Thanks for the responses. I'll post again if I am still having problems.
