If memory serves me correctly Porsche also 'helped' in the design of the evolution engine back in the early 80s. Harley and Porsche not only ‘consulted’ with the design of the water cooled motor pictured in the post above; they also had their hand in the current Twin Cam designs. Now, just how much of the development Porsche did for Harley depends a lot on which engine and who you’re talking with.

I use my Porsche as an alternative for a Harley Ultra Glide when the weather is bad.

Gosh, if I dared, I'd love to ride that all the way home as well.

Um, .... the bike I mean.

I have friends in Long Beach, so maybe that could work!

I'm coping as well as I can. I took the HD out on a nice 350-mile run through the Kettle Morraine Forest Preserves yesterday. The engine really sang to me.

The real downside, though, is that I can't easily drive in the winter.

Oh, and contrary to popular misconception, sanity actually returns when selling the Porsche after the loss of sanity when buying one!

That said, sanity is highly overrated, IMO

Murphy, there is a nice white w/ black '88 cab for sale in Penn. you may want to check out. It could help with the return to the fold.

Murphy- just buy another 911 when she's out of town sometime (it worked for me). She'll either get over it or not- you can always tell her you'll sell the Nova or bike to pay for the "new" 911. (And then just delay that process for awhile).

Besides, your alot safer with the frame of the 911 around you in case of an accident. I told my wife I was going to buy either a Harley or a 911 and then she gave me no more trouble with the 911.

I did wait to test her until we had been married a few years though!

good luck!

Rich, That's ok. HD guys think we're all preoccupied with Al Quaeda and the World Trade Center.

(Ohhhh, was that in bad taste?)

I sold my 78 911 euro in 04, used half the money for the down payment on a new BMW for the wife and the other half a down payment on my HD Sporty. But I broke down and bought another Porsche a year later.
