I have used Rotella T 15w40 in my street cars and Redline 10w40 in the race cars...I have tested both with Blackstone Labs and have had excellent results with those oils for my applications...The newer CJ version of the Heavy Duty Engine Oils (HDEO's) will have less zinc and phos than the previous CI oils, but it has not shown to be detrimental to my 3.2 Carrrera engine this summer...in fact, my last Rotella run wa stellar at approximately 4000 street miles and a few track days thrown in for fun....I will continue to run and sample that oil...

My local GMC dealer had multiple cases a fiew months back when I was working on my Astro. It was less money than what most were quoting. Parts counter guy checked stock and assured me they will never run out at the west coast distribution center. this isn't good news for the environmental wackos out there.

About the EOS and the equivalent Delco. I even tried ordering some of the Delco product last week, since it showed available through the a/c delco network - came back perpetual backorder, i.e. discontinued.

SLOB-Street Legal Oil Boost is another supplement you may want to look at....I think the parent company is "CD2"? Anyways, it has about 4500 PPM of zinc and phosphorus if memory serves me correctly...Believe it or not, Big Lots had a huge stash of it and was selling it very inexpensively...There is a virgin analysis posted on BITOG. Looks like quite a package...Charles, any experience with that product?

I'm placing an order now for a case BP.

No need to get stressed/confused about adding addtional additives.

No, but I think it's discontinued. Once big lots runs out, then it's gone for good. That said, if it has ~4000ppm, it's right in between Red STP and EOS.

http://www.amref.com/

I also use Rotella but intend to try Brad Penn. It looks like Quarls is a distributor near DC.

Note I tried to send them a email but it wouldn't take. Something about a security certificate expiring. Maybe you will have better luck.

You must have been on my site then - my store's security cert expired and I am in the process of securing and having a new cert installed by my hosting company - It's a big ordeal. Sorry for those who have had problems with our site, we installed a new store and everything after our last one crapped out and I'm still working out bugs!

Default Citgo Heavy Duty Synthetic

Does anyone have an opinion on Citgo Citgaurd Syndurance synthetic Heavy Duty 5w-40? We use it for our mixed fleet (diesel and gas) at work so it would not cost me anything. I will be running my 87 Targa through the winter in Connecticut so the 5w-40 rating sounds good and heavy duty oils seem to perform well so what do you think?

Thanks, Sean.

You don't need to add EOS or any additives if you use the BRAD PENN.
