What 17" Porsche wheels will fit my SC?
I want to put 17's on my SC for street and rainy day autox and track use. Track wheels will be current Fuch 7 and 9 x 16's.
Are there any Cup, or 993, or C2, or 964 or whatever 17's that will fit w/out putting spacers on?
Thanks
Scott

Nope. All the 964, 993, Boxster, and 996 wheels have offsets in the 40s and 50s and you need offsets in the 20s. It's possible there are aftermarket versions that will fit but I bet they'll be pretty heavy. If you want light 17s for an SC you'll need to get CCW, BBS, Fikse, Kinesis, etc...

There is someone on the pelican board who has developed 17" fuchs by Rota. Look it up over there if you're interested. I'm contemplating going that route after I hear some feed back.
You could also go to Lindsey Racing. They make 17" fuchs out of the 16" x 6" ones. I'm thinking about that route as well as they are probably lighter than the cast ones Rota is developing.

For street only wheels I would definitely look at the rota fuch copy. I'd also check out BBS Fikse, CCW, Kodiak.
For street wheels though - I'd be inclined to keep the 16" fuchs and get some quality track wheels (like the kodiaks or CCW's) in the 17" configurations where you will notice it more .

Tire Rack has an aftermarket Cup 1, about $900/set, but they're cast and on the heavy side. The Rotas are about $1200. Lindseys are $2300 if they provide trhe cores. Other than that, you're looking at $2600 - $3300 / set for other brands.

What about running spacers. Does this have adverse affects? Maybe, especially on the track?
I am in the same situation. I see tons of good Porsche wheels with good tires on craigslist for rar less than 1000 bucks. I even recently saw some boxster 16" for 100 bucks.

The spacers required would also require longer studs, which could be done but is a PIA, and then you have the long studs sticking out when the stock wheels are on. Most race organizers will not allow bolt-on spacers ("adapters").
