Default Finally, new wheels!

My car is sooooooooooooooooo happy. Thanks to a very nice guy on PP I ran across one of those right time right place deals on a set of Fuchs. I had pretty much given up til next years budget, but this was a too good to pass on deal.

Thanks Knight (if you happent o frequent this website as well)! The car looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.

BTW, I have a set of d90's for sale!

The first pic is before, the rest are afters:

To put icing on the cake, I also scored another set of 6's here locally. I am hoping to get on Harvey Weidman's list soon. Just to be fair, what other options are there for widening/refinishing Fuchs besides Harvey, Al Reed, TruDesign (Colorado), and the place in Florida (Sonjay?)..

LOL!!! Yeah, she snuck in there as I was taking the shot. I don;t know if anyone else has this problem, but car is a dang cat magnet! No, they couldn't possibly get on the piece of crap truck I use to take the trash out. Heck, I would even settle for my wife's Suburban! Ooooh... don;t tell her I said that...

I took out my cab wednesday and drove my son to his scoutmaster's house only to have his dog jump on the driver's door and leave three big claw marks all the way across the door and down to the ground. the jerk just shrugged his sholders and said "so what" MORON Ahole...in thru the nose...

anyway. I used a Mother's Power Ball on my Fuchs when I got my car home. It took about an hour per and totally restored the black paint to brand new. my drill didn't like going that slow for four hours, but I got the most stunning restoration I have ever seen. I didn't even take them off the car. the next day I went to the car wash and sprayed the "HOT WAX" cycle on the wheels for about two minutes each. I know the Mother's is wax, but it REALLY set them off.

Doug,

Is the Power Ball preloaded with something, or were you using one of the Mother's waxes/polishes?

It's a package deal at Pep boys. you get a polish/paist, the red foam ball, and an extention that helps get into deep spots and allows you to lean on the bad spots. Mine look as good as new after nine months. as far as I can see they are original to the car and the car turns 20 in about 7 days!!!

Doug,

I don't suppose you took any before and after shots?

No, just picture dull fuzzy grey before, and deep dark black shine after. Or, night and day.

good luck with it, I'm leaving for San Diego in about five minutes.

Definitely better. Although I didn't think the D90's were too bad...before you painted them black.

Feels good to finally have the right wheels thought...right?

i didn't know what i would ever do with my 6's (bought a set of 6/7 for $400), until someone wanted to trade their 7's for them (to make 17" fuchs). now i have 2-8's and 6-7's! now i need 4 more 8's and i'll have 3 good sets.

Just think how nice the D90's would look in all silver. Now that's style....

I know it's getting old, but it is still funny.

He would have paid for the damage if it would have been my car. I had a dog do that to my truck door at a place of business a few months ago.....needless to say I got a very nice discount. I know we all have insurance but people need to be responsible for their actions.
