Default Cat's out of the bag now...

Well I was outed by someone on this board So I figured I would formally introduce myself and my car...

I think it goes something like this... "hi, my name is kcpaz, and I like "rice".

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=357151

For those who haven't already seen this, here it is. Be nice.

sweet, i get to post here before a bunch of 911 freaks tackle you down!

you know what man, i'll be the first to give you props any day for building or fabricating something (regardless of what it is) on your own. The fact that you are putting a subaru motor in your 911 just makes it that much more cooler and unique.

I think once the car is done it will be awesome. Best of luck to you and congrats for thinking outside the box and being original!

+1 I think it's an awesome project, really, there's nothing special about the 911 engine IMO. I'm sure the suby is as good or better and doesn't come with ridiculous rebuild costs. Nice fab work!

I've been following the Pelican thread and I agree with the others here about the Scooby motor

Good choice!

Plenty of power, reliability without the Porsche "tax"

I would go the same route if I had a roller.

Suby's ROCK! Esp. since that WRX whipped my a** the other day!

I think he was cheating, tho... all four tires were throwing smoke at me!!!

Thanks for the support guys. I will definetly keep this board up to date. Stay on the look-out for cheap rollers, or cars with blown engines. I'm planning on making conversion kits available once everything has been track tested.

I'm impressed with the project as a whole, and with the fab quality. I also agree with your position on this being a rescue (of sorts).

This to me is a hot rod, plain & simple. It's not being passed off as anything other, either.

At least the suby is a flat boxer engine, which to me has always made the suby conversions more acceptable than the V8 conversions. The suby's even sound similar to a 911 engine.

kcpaz: We know that the typical SC engine weighs about 420 pounds, how does the Subaru engine, with adaptors, compare?

As a kid my '79 Monte Carlo had a Buick V6 in it and the dealer could not explain why. At least you will know why. Your fab work does look good. How are the guys on the Subaru board treating you?
