No, please don't misunderstand. Even Porsche, in their repair books, state that all other systems in the car must be in perfect working order before repairs to the injection are attempted. I'm only trying to keep you from chasing a problem that might be something much simpler, and cheaper, to fix.
You've already given me a good clue, the hand throttle is critical for proper cold starts on a '75, when you get it functional (this might be a can of worms for you because if the throttle linkage is not in good order you will have to fix it before you'll be able to adjust the hand throttle). We'll get to that after we know about dwell, plugs, CO%, etc...
