Rod, I had 9" rears on my 84 narrow Cab (Cup 1's, 7.5" fronts). I run '92 C2 5-spokes (late offset) with the spacers all around daily, and those same spacers worked for the 17's just fine. One thing, watch the front fender flares - your front spacers might want to be a little thinner, though I haven't checked for inner fenderwell tire rubbing before either. I remember it being close on the flares & was concerned with bottoming out & kinking the flare accidentally.
As for rears, I think Bill Verburg had info that indicated 10" rears would squeeze in there with some minor modifications.

The spacers worry me. Not sure if spacers are allowed for PCA events.
Longer studs too? Sounds like a PITA. But it sounds like I'm stuffing the biggest wheels possible in there. I like that!

Those are not factory, but I like them a whole lot.
I've seen that size fit fine and autocrossed without issue.
FWIW, there is a model of that wheel (1 piece) that has the correct offset for your car that doesn't need a spacer.
H & R makes some really good, light stuff and some of their spacers have studs in them, so all you need to do is bolt them on, then your wheels.

Sorry Rod, to clarify, I have adapters with new studs also. As for PCA events, I'd confirm prior to buying. As I understand it, very few regions would allow spacers or even fake cast wheels, etc.

255 tires, even with spacers on the wheels, could rub on the oil lines, or the spring plate bolts in the right-rear fender-well. I think the biggest rear tire you can go to without changing your oil line locations, etc. is 245's? that's what I discovered on my SC. 255's too big! Rub rub!
