Red face FUCHS-TO POLISH OR NOT TO POLISH

I'M NEW TO THIS SO BEAR WITH ME.
I HAVE AN 85 CAB. TRIPLE BLACK.
I'VE PUT ABOUT 100 MILES ON IT.
ANYWAY IT HAS BLACK FUCHS WITH A SILVER
TRIM. WOULD I BE NEGATIVELY AFFECTING
THE VALUE IF I HAD THE BLACK PAINT TAKEN
OFF OF THEM AND POLISHED COMPLETELY?
THEY ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION AS IS?

As far as valueof the car I personally don't think it's a big deal. Assuming these arer standard sized Fuchs they are readily available. Personally I like the polished raised spokes with black centers over fully polished. To me it looks more classic. But hey, it is YOUR car and I'm sure it would look great either way.

If anything it would actually raise the value of the Fuchs, and shouldn't do anything to the value of the car. Many people like the polished look. I actually like the polished look, but only on certain cars. I have a black '88 and would prefer gloss black rims to polished, but it's just a personal preference thing.

Don't worry about it, it wouldn't be a big deal unless you decided to do it to an ultra rare car that was in original or concours condition.

You could do a lot worse:

This car belongs to a guy on the Pelican board. And I'm jealous of it.

Here's a slightly different look that Wheel Enhancement offers, just to get another idea:

In terms of affecting your 911's value, if you want to keep it perfectly stock, perhaps with the idea of showing it or doing concours competition, then you should leave the stock wheels alone. Otherwise, it's your 911 and do what you want to enhance your pleasure and experience with it.

Swimmy,

I've got the Wheel Enhancement rough & clear finish on my 7 & 8 x 16 fuchs. The wheels look great (see Bill Gregory's post above), I continue to receive compliments on them from other Porsche enthusiasts and, no, they will not adversely affect the value of your car.

Have fun!

Thanks, they're due in shortly.
I had a full polish done like
Jack posted above. My car's actually
the same color scheme as that too,
so it should pretty much look identical.
I'll post a pic soon.

Here it . Al Reed out did himself.
Polishing shop at 714-632-3907.
$250 for all 4 wheels including
center caps and lugs. I opted not
to have clear coat put on. It's only
another $25 per, but I'd rather have
the option to polish them by hand.
Tell him James from Utah said hey.
