I have my eyes on a 1970 and I trying to run down a lead on a 1973. I think I know were in Germany he got his parts if you want to know I'll see if I can find it I ran across a place selling RSR flares, but I'm leaning more towards RS. Do you have a car for sale?

RS flares in steel can be found, RSR flares are very expensive if you can find them. Most people modify turbo flares. People are looking at remanufacturing these but they are still not available.

RS flares are/were commonly available and not expensive. They are not the same as SC flares, just as Turbo flares are not the same as RSR flares. However, not many people are going to be able to tell the difference between SC and RS or Turbo and RSR. Both accommodate the same width of wheel, although the shape of the outer lip is a little different.
For an RS clone, you only need to change the rear flares. For an RSR clone, you have to change both front and rear. Both are available in fiberglass. My car used to be an RS clone with SC flares. Now I have an RSR clone with fiberglass body pieces. (Nudge me and I'll post pictures.

Keith at Zuffenhaus has been trying to make 930 flares look more like RSR flares. He has an example on page 7 of the following Pelican thread:

Keith being Keith was talking about cutting them off and starting again..... insane![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Neither was a faithful reproduction, but here's the RS version:

And here's the RSR:

![](https://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads7/Basic+RearAngle1142646338.jpg)
As you can see, the RS has stock 7-inch front flares and 9-inch rears. The RSR has 9-inch fronts and 11-inch rears.
If I were creating more-faithful reproductions, I'd have 15-inch wheels, the square opening for the oil cooler in front, no trim on the RSR, no R-style tail lights and no aftermarket license plate panel (there are lots of other incorrect details, but that's a start) -- but I was going for my own version of what I wanted from an early car.

yeah, Ed is right about my mental state...
- this is my second attempt after spending some quality time with some genuine 73 RSR flares at Treffen:
(sorry about the picture quality)

Hiya
Mark at RS911.com makes and supplies genuine (accurate RSR shaped) RSR steel flares - unique profile. He does the full set, front and rear (front shown on car, rear in big image)
Very hard to reproduce accurately these things are a work of art.
