Wink 20 HP throttle pedal mod

I noticed on my new SC that I wasn't getting much throttle pedal travel. I checked travel at the throttle body and it wasn't even close to WOT when the pedal was at the floor.

The PO had installed (not sure if himself) aluminum pedals and the throttle pedal had two "cups" in the back for inserting the cable ball. Well, it was in the upper one, so was not getting the most of the leverage of the pedal. Moved the ball to the lower one and voila! At least 20 HP!

Thumbs up "Priceless!"

Nice!

I had the same experience with my car. PO had engine rebuilt and the throttle shaft had not been adjusted properly during their engine re-installation. Easiest hp ever gained, and "priceless!"

That is one of the MOST over looked things on a 911SC. Everytime I do a tune-up on one I check the throttle to see if it is getting full throttle. More times than not it isn't...

this was done as cheep insurance. it is very common to do this to a teenager's car, rental car, grandma's car, and yes the family sports car. automatic speed control.

Where is the actual adjustment , I don't think it is on the pedal assembly is it ? is it up behind the CIS area ? time to check out the Bentley I would imagine.

Congrats! That is the easiest way to get HP out of these buckets. First screw something up to take it out. Then it's a piece of cake to put it back in.

There is an adjustment at the pedal,on the throttle rod at the back of the engine, at the throttle body, and at the bell crank on the transmission.

Wowo looks like tonnes of oportunities for improvment , as long as the throtle plate doesn't get bent..

have someone push down the gas pedal while you look to see if the throttle linkage is just hitting the throttle stop on the side of the throttle body. if not, then start shortening the linkage rods until it does. i almost ran out of adjustments to get mine to hit.
