Default A sad day has come ....

While at Stoddard a couple of weeks ago a disaster happened at home .. My wife while cleaning out THREW AWAY MY NOW FAMOUS HOCKEY STICK. she thought it was my sons it was so short and now he has grown she figured he couldn't use it and chucked it ....
Even our Saturday get togethers people ask about it .. so now I am just a phoney ... guess I will have to upgrade to a carbon fibre model .... but my Avatar will stay with the old one ...

We should have a service, take up a collection & pick up the closest thing from eBay to replace "Das Shtick".

dude, that's a real bummer, you are known all over the porsche world for your hockey stick! sounds like a domestic issue that needs to be dealt with quickly.

Solution: get some really attactive woman with real big ***** to hold up your deck lid and take a new pic for you avatar...that will teach your wife to ask before she throws out your stuff

I was using the kids old tire pump as a prop for year.....lost it in my recent move, but that certainly pales in comparison to the stick fiasco.....sympathy ur way....that poor stick.

Ice - any chance your loving wife might soothe your pain by buying you a carbon fiber engine lid to go with your new carbon fiber hockey stick?

I tried to explain to her the significance of said stick but oddly she just doesn't get it , think I will be showing her this thread.
I have decided to hold a " Canadas top Model stick contest " I will be scouring arena garbage cans all over the country looking for the replacement. Usually summer leagues are full of goon type hockey players which tend to provide lots of stick candidates as they smash them over each other ( we won't go into how the original stick came to be ) ... I'll keep you guys posted .

thank you all for your condolences, in leiu of flowers please send donations to the charity of your choice. Personally I would have gone for cremation , or at least the fuel for one , but alas he rests at the city dump..... what a sad end ...

ice: See what happens when you go out, late at night, with a woman other than your wife, and supposedly have, ahem, "car trouble...", and then post a thread about it..., and think that she hasn't read it...

I have an extra expandable hood prop (lightweight one too), which I'd happily donate to the cause if you want it Clive. Problem is, it's not regulation or anything & it kind of defeats the whole "hockey
" theme...

Ice,

Sorry to here of your loss. I would like to offer a few suggestions to fill the void. The first would be to try to procure the hockey stick that was displayed on the stern of True North, the America's cup 12 meter yacht sailed by the Canadian hockey team in (I think) 1987. Or, I could drive a few miles up the road and get you a replacement stick from these guys...
