Targa top rubbing
So now that my "new" 911 targa has loosened up after it's 7 year slumber, things are starting to make some noise. The Targa top, which was rebuilt a couple of years ago is now rubbing on one side and making a bit of racket. Any methods for silencing this menace?
Maybe the lock needs to be tightened up?

I had the same problem in my 89. I filed down the vinyl corner doing the rubbing with fine sandpaper, then coated all contact edges with clear stick lubricant. Not a long term fix, but did the trick for a while. It's funny how some days the top really creaks, and other days it's quiet.....

Hah, saw that one coming!
Funny, after a weekend of autocross, it doesn't do it anymore. That will probably change though

For the most part i drive with the roof off ut I do notice it squeek more when it is cooler and the rubber is less pliable, strangely though only on the passenger side rear section of the roof. If she grabs it and pulls down it is quiet, I think you can no longer get those rubber type pins though.
