Default 911 Values

Other than Excellence, where do most go to seek info on current 911 values. Have a gorgeous Metallic Prussian Blue Coupe I am thinking about selling.

The best way is to see what cars are selling for on this site, autotrader, cars.com, etc. Ebay isn't all that accurate, and neither is KBB.

The Old Car Price Guide has a pretty good read on collector car values.

Sports Car Market magazine, and "carsthatmatter.com", are two great places to start. Remember that price guides are not gospel, just a good place to start.

Boise is not eh largest market - so keep that in mind. Even if sold out of state, the buyer still has to either travel or take a risk, so most buyers will factor that in. I might put ads in SLC papers also & don't forget Idaho Falls, where there may be some bias towards engineers (with $$) despite the small popn.

WHAT THE HELL happened in the last 30 days with 3.2 pricing???!!! It must that "timing" issue with the summer coming around, but I'm consistently seeing pricing in the $20-$22k, from average of $17-19k just one or two months prior.

Boy, it surely is amazing how the summer demand drives up these prices...

Start high, then slowly lower your price until it sells (unless you have to sell fast). The only price that matters is what a prospective buyer wants to pay. No matter how much you scream that the car is worth x dollars, if prospective buyers don't think so, then it isn't. You should always advertise above what you want to get anyway. Then, you let the buyer "talk you down" to your desired price, and you both end up happy. But, don't start too high, or you'll get no interest.

Good luck selling.

I'd post it on Craigslist. If you give us more info we can better help you to price the car. Pics help too!

Cheers,

Paul

Check multiple sources (Auto Trader, Craig's list, PCA region website classifieds, Rennlist classifieds) for that area/zipcodes and 100 miles radius. You should get a good take on the pulse of prices. That's how I found my deal!

NADA seemed to always have good price estimates.

But depending on the market and the time of year, prices will definately fluctuate.

I hate to have a dissenting opinion, but all of the sources mentioned will only give you current asking prices. Ebay will give you the high end of the wholesale market, but at least is a true "steet price". If you only go off of current asking prices, be prepared to come down quite a bit and sit on the car for a while.

Well said. I have a couple of folks I know who have been looking for 911s- I'll direct them to this post...might also want to list it in the PNW & For Sale sections of Pelican...

Cheers,

Paul.
