Hi folks - nice to find a well populated board with lots of info on - I usually reside on 911uk, but its been busted for a few days, so i thought i'd take a look around.

Here is a pic of my 911, slightly modified but not in any bad ways!!

oh- i cant post a pic yet...

993 wheels (R888 semis) and brakes front and rear, sparco evo buckets, heigo rear cage, scroth harnesses, koni and bilstein struts, stainless exhaust, unknown chip, cone filter....

Always keen to learn more about the 911 - I'm a convert after owning only italians!

Trying to find a standard airbox, never been a fan of cone filters, want to look at practical mods first, not waste of money "big hp"- hence reverting to original airbox. Probably looking at cat bypass, and possible rear silencer bypass, depending on volume when i fit the cat bypass...

Any other simple mods would be fantastic to find out about. Like on my old Integrale, coolant heated throttle - good to get rid of!

The simplest mods are the best!

Anyway - glad to be on board

Well the standard front seats are out, so thats a saving, (i could do with a diet myself, truth be told)....

I had considered some weight saving, but, with the lengths i would go to, it wouldnt really make enough of a difference when compared to the sacrifice of comfort!

Any particular items that are overly heavy?

I guessing the spare wheel is one...

Demonfish, welcome home. check out the K&N air filter and Fabspeed air box cover. That combo has turned my otherwise stock '88 into a real kick to drive. I have no idea on power gain, but driveability is way up! you may have already got lots of other mods and not see a change, but I love it....see you around.

the fabspeed is an option once i find a standard airbox, i missed one on ebay the other night

I guess modification may be the wrong word, "improvements on original" may be better suited!

Any common problems that hold things back?

Some people go on about turbos, superchargers, 964 engines etc, but, I'm still to get the most out of my car (or is it to get the most out of me?) so no point with big power mods, i'd just get a 964 - its easier if i wanted that route!

I'm getting itchy fingers you see, i need to start tinkering!
