Default Will 964 C2 brakes fit a 75?

I have a set of brakes from my 93 c2 I am trying to sell. Someone has asked me if they fit a 75. IIRC the 75's used the M calipers or S calipers. If so are the bolt centers different and can the larger fatter discs be used with the stock spindles?

Anyone ever try to mount these?

Thanks

I am assuming from the lack of response, this does not work? I do recall someone saying modified carrera calipers work but these must be too big or difficult to fit.

Yes...
I've seen kits that include these, but believe some sort of adaptor is needed.

They can be made to work but it sure isn't easy or cheap

Bill,

Why don't I learn? I should go to the source and save myself time.

Thanks

I haven't tried that exact swap but I did bolt 1991 C2 front calipers to a 1980 911SC with stock rotors and all I had to do was make the one bolt hole oblong.

and you gained??? Nothing!
using 'bigger' calipers w/ the same rotors gains zilch

to improve 911 brakes in a meaningful way you need to use bigger rotors

p.s. using 964 front calipers on a 24mm(or even worse 20mm) rotor is potentially dangerous as well

I don't know the answer to that but you're probably right. At the same time I installed a brake proportion valve which turned out to be faulty. The front brakes would lock up prematurely every time. I added bigger rotors and calipers front and back and removed the proportion valve, the brakes are perfect now.

Amen for that!!!

Professor Verburg speaks the gospel here and anyone considering an effective brake upgrade solution should heed his priceless advice. There are no shortcuts that work.

Although not cheap to do properly, good brakes are worth their weight in gold and in some cases, prevent one from knowing their body shop on a personal basis.

I agree, that was why I was selling the set. Rotors, pads, calipers however it looks like no sale. So I am going to break up the set and sell the parts individually. Ironically they seem to be worth more individually than as a set.

Thanks for the help.
