The "new" C2 is grand prix white over blue interior, bought with 45K miles, now over 46K. Stock with a bunch of options, including limited slip (40%), computer (trip odometer, outside temp, mpg, avg speed, miles to go to empty, speed), rear wiper, heated seats, and some etc. It's very stock, which means it's ripe for some minor tweaks . Tomorrow I'll finish up the installation of the DAS rollbar, then turn to the suspension. After that, it will get realigned and corner balanced. Just mounted new S03's, as the previous Comp T/A's were shot.
I've also drilled the airbox, supposedly for a gain of 7 hp, which is questionable, however, the additional sounds when the pedal is floored is worth the price of the mod. I'll also likely drop the primary muffler and put a bypass in, retaining the secondary muffler. Oh, and I'm painting a set of H5 trim rings black, to replace the white ones. After that, I'm going to get Armourfend put on the front, lower half of the hood, and backs of the mirrors to protect against paint chips. Hopefully I can get that done in the next week or two.
In terms of driving, it's, as you might expect, different than the SC. I'd characterize it as more of a touring machine, as things are quieter and the ride is cushier (The SC had 22/29 torsions and was tight, but not bone jarring). However, I've been pleasantly surprised when it's gone into some significant turns with a set and stick that almost seems at odds with the cushy straight line touring mode. I've been driving the SC for several years sitting in a Recaro SRD, which helps create a personal environment. Getting back to stock seats is nice, but I'll need to add SRD's, blue this time. In a sense, I imagine the difference between the C2 and the SC is like the difference between the SC and a late 60's/early 70's 911.
The brakes are quite good, with quad piston calipers on each wheel. The 3.6L engine is intoxicating. While it's 250hp is pushing a heavier 911, it's still got enough juice to open your eyes a bit, literally.
The factory manuals come in 7 binders, could probably fit in 4, and are inconsitent in the quality of material presented (some pretty good, some literally MIA).
Well, I'm rambling a bit here....hope that gives you some idea about the "new" C2. My view is that the 964 is the last of the user maintainable 911's, so I plan to keep this one for quite awhile.

Bill,
Congrats! I hope to get to see your "new" baby in the Spring, by which time you will have done your mods. In the meantime maybe you could post a picture or two?
Now, I've got to start saving for a C2 or C4!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Bill,
Just to prove that "every cloud has a silver lining", I decided to use my Lime Rock over rev (bent all the valves ) as an excuse to upgrade to a 3.6L engine (aiming for 300 h.p.) Where did you get that front "yellow bird" style air dam? I think I might need the extra space as I may want to add an extra oil cooler after my 3.6 conversion is completed.
Regards & Happy Turkey Day!

Bill,
Have you used the Armourfend before? How does it look and does it seemd to work? Can it be removed as easily as they say?
I had never heard of it before, and was wondering. Sounds like a great product on their website, and had to ask is it as good as it seems.
Enjoy your new toy! I've had my 91 C2 Cabriolet for about a month now, and am enojying it every time I drive it!
