Default $6,000 tax return, what to do?

I have a bone stock 1988 carrera cabriotlet.
(ok it has toyo's and an interstate battery)

should I do:
1. new airbox w/ k&n filter
2. steve wong chip
3. fab speed pre-muffler
4. m&k muffler

or go on another cruise

i'm in so cal so the cat. will be an issue in a year and a half when I go to get it smog'd. (I'll switch it out then) how is the sound of the m&k? wife has been told the cat. is clogged and entire project will be hidden under the umbrella of "fixing" the clog. is it worth doing? what other names should I look at for this upgrade? is it an upgrade or lost money?

What are you looking for? More sound? More power? A better ride?

Is the car a Sunday cruiser, a daily driver, or a track-day special?

my car is primarily a sunday top down drive to san diego kinda car. aroud town is fun too, but only fri. sat. sun. primary concern is the rusty muffler. I just don't like rust! a little more sound would be good. the intake induction sound improvment would be awsome. as is, it will go from zero to oh S#!% way too fast, and 80 to 140 even faster. to look at the leather and the back window, you would think it has never seen the sun, so I'm not going to go crazy with it. just want to satisfy my memories of my '64 'cuda with a 340 and a ram rod. give me a little sound, a little performance, and keep it looking bone stock.

Here's what to do:

1.) Adjust your W4 so that you are not paying too much in taxes.
2.) Use the additional income to purchase a larger piece of property or invest more into a ROTH IRA account or Mutual Fund
3.) Take the proceeds you make in the next 10 years and buy another Porsche.

Oh, sorry, you meant what to do with the existing car, right

I think you'd gain the most from a muffler, headers and chip. I don't think there is much horsepower in the K&N filter/airbox combo.

Go get a set of SSI's , the SW chip, and your choice of premuffler and muffler, I have heard that M&K fabspeed and Bursch all make good setups.

I have an SC so what do I know anyway .. i just love spending other peoples money...

I’ve got ssi’s, and the m&k 2 in 2 out exhaust and i love it, its loud but not obnoxious. The only problem is I’ve got emission testing coming up, do i have any chance of passing without a cat?

my heat exchange looks like new compared to the rest of the exhaust. hoping to not touch it. didn't want to touch the heads. I will if I have to, but would rather not. Pre muf, muf, and wong. looking on pelican, fabspeed, m&K, performance, seems to be limited selection and wide variety of prices.

help,

douglas

I am willing to do a cat. bypass swap every two years. am I stuck with a specialty muffler with the same side in-n-out, or is that a common muffler shop item if I look around. I have a customer that does mustang intake and exhaust systems who may have a "side pipe" set up. Should I stick with porsche stuff.
