They just want to grab more of your money. What better way to add an additional "tax" and not call it a tax? Virginia has been this way ever since I moved there 15 years ago. I never put a front plate on any of my cars and never got a ticket for it yet. That said, my '88 targa had a bracket and i went ahead and put the plate on because i don't want to draw attention to myself. I grew up in florida and they still don't have front plates. i hope you guys defeat this asanine new 'tax'. where are you supposed to put your UNC or Duke front plates now????

I also heard it's easier for LEO to use a lasar gun by aiming at the front plate to get a speed reading.

Indiana considered front plates some years ago with some legislators saying the added costs would be minimal for car owners. I wrote my legislator and quoted dealer prices for front licence brackets for the three cars I owned. It came to over $100 I remember. I'm not sure it helped, but the bill was defeated. Write on!
