Advice on new shocks for 911
I need to replace my stock Boge shocks on my 1987 Carerra. Any recommendations. Koni's, Bilsteins ?? Also, any local dealers in Orange County, CA. Also any other reasonable suspension mods, in addition to new shocks??

I'm selling a set of Red Koni Adjustables that fit your car perfectly, fronts brand new and rears purchased slightly used (<5k) that I never installed on Pelican Parts if you're interested ($475).
The other common mods if you're looking to stiffen up your suspension are bigger torsion bars. 22/28 or 29 is a fairly standard combination, depending on what you plan to use the car for. If you're going to develop a track car you can go larger but consult someone smarter than me to get a matched suspension set up on your car (Steve Wiener comes to mind).
Cheers,

I've had new Boge Turbos installed on a 3.2 I owned awhile back. They gave a nice ride to the car and were economically priced as compared to Bilsteins. However, on my current 3.2, I've got a new set of Bilsteins on the car and they still have a great ride quality, but handle exceptionally well. My brother has new Bilsteins on both of his SC's and they are also exceptional shocks on those cars.
Nothing wrong with Boge's, but if you can stretch the extra cash for Bilsteins, they do provide better handling without adding any harshness.
Good luck,
Jay

"newbie"I installed Bilstein Sports on all 4 corners of the 89' 930Turbo...exceptional handling and ride. Worth the extra pennies.
I have used KYB and Boge...
I can tell a difference with the Bilsteins.

I put on Bilstein sports all around and love them ..as you can see , many opinions.. so I think you can't go wrong with Bilsteins or Konis... I actually had a guy who sells koni and Bilstein recommend Bilsteins to me !! this was because I told him I do not track the car and would like " some " level of comfort .... interesting ...

I've got the Koni's on a 88 911. I really like them alot !!
I've had the Bilstein sports... they were good.... did I say I really liked the Koni's ??
My car has been lowered and I like the stiffer ride, feels more secure in the corners.

On my '85 I put Bilsteins, non-sport. I talked to a tech at Bilstien in S.Cal. He said don't use sport unless lowered. Well...OK...I even have a Cab with more weight but he said no to sports. I think he mumbled something about operating range.
BTW, I was ready/willing/able to replace Boge front strut insert but after doing shocks it was stopping so flat I left them in. At 175K you would think they needed replacement, but no.
