James,

The engine was a bone stock '82 USA 911SC engine, other than the following:

Recurved distributor (and converted to full mechanical advance)

SSI exhaust with M&K 2 in/2 out muffler

20/21 cams

PMO 40mm carbs with 34mm chokes (venturis)

Engine otherwise rebuilt stock.

Hope the visors worked out for you, and sorry about your loss (funeral). I've had my son on a full-time motocross training program (5 days at the race track per week.... every week) for quite a while now, and have not had much time for anything else. And it looks like this schedule will continue for the next year at a minimum (which is why I'm selling my 911's BTW). Lots of driving... and lots of stress.

Tony,

This is great thing to see on your dyno..... the effects of a 20/21 cam. My torque curve is very similar with 150 ft lbs at 2500 and a flat peak at 4500-5000. The HP curve is quite different though. The stock SC cam in my car generates 184 ft lbs at 4400 but only 179 RWHP at 5800. I lose thrust fast after 5500. I'm thinking about the 20/21 or DRC DC20 profile. I think my power figures would be pretty close to what I see from yours.

BUT, if you really want what the carbs can offer it is MUCH more expensive: you need new cams, new pistons + labor. But you then get a real powerhouse.
old thread I realize. Which PMO's for a 3.0 with SSI exhaust, euro pistons and 964 cams?

I use 40s on a 3.2 twin-plugged hotrod street car, but you need to discuss w/ Richard. Send him a fax as per his website or get your engine builder to do it.
