. By the way, my car does not have that defrost plate. Any idea why? It's an 88 Targa with manual heat, same as yours.

I dont have any of that except the dil and hand brake......I assume thats because i have auto heat?

murphyslaw, I think you are missing your plate an '88 with manual heat should have the same setup as mine. Loaded, yes, automatic heat.. no plate.

Should this be lighted when the instrument lights come on, or only when the heater levers are lifted?

My '82 SC has this with the same graphics, but it is centered under the e-brake handle. I nearly vacuumed it up yesterday.
