73RS (sport and touring) are indeed special cars, but can someone tell me the physical differences between a 73RS Touring and 74 911 Carrera (EURO-ROW version) ?
Apart from impact bumpers, wheel sizes, & interior, are there any other differences between the 2 cars?
Thanks

There are lots of little differences between any 73 and 74 (I don't know them all, but you should do a Google search), but I believe the drivetrains are the same. But the biggest difference has to be the price

'74 ROW Carrera 2.7 still had the ducktail except in some markets where they were banned because of "pedestrian safety". Many German market '74 Carreras were delivered with a smooth engine lid.
'74 Carrera RS 3.0 had a whaletail.
The street Carrera whaletail came out in '75.

Really there are very little mechanical differences. Interestingly the weight of the Touring model '73 Carrera is almost identical to the '74-75 Carrera 2.7.
I think the Carrera 2.7 is a good choice for an '70's 911. They have the same driving characteristics as the '73 Carrera, about the same # of cars produced, with a more attractive price. Finding a nice one is hard because they were not as well cared for as the '73 Carreras were.

I have been looking for a 74-75 carrera for about a year now and have seen a half a dozen us carreras for sale , but never a row/euro.
All the books I have do not list the quantity made for the row.
Does anybody know how many were made, and would you have to look to europe to find one for sale ?
Thanks

I agree Jonny, nice Carrera 2.7 cars are hard to come by especially here in the States. A good friend of mine in Germany has a '74 coupe with a ducktail and '75 Carrera coupe, with a tail delete, for sale right now.
His intention is to keep the one that doesn't sell. If you are seriously looking I would be glad to give you his contact information. I have not seen either car in person but a good mutual friend just visited Jurgen and drove both cars. The '74 is very fast and the '75 is very original were his comments to me.
BTW there were 1036 coupes and 433 Targas made in '74 and 518 coupes and 197 Targas made in '75. There was also a special group of 123 coupes made in '76, that were homolgated as a true 'Carrera RS'.
