Decklid/spoiler is off a 1984 or newer, isn't it? Should say 911 SC not Carrera which also explains the standard front valance. You might ask were the original decklid is.

I just purchaed an '82 SC and it's being shipped to Houston from New Mexico. This will make Porsche #17 for me and I would be more than happy to go with you to look at this car. I am constantly learning stuff about these great cars but I can give you my $.02. There are a lot of nice SC's and Carrera's around. Location is good but it doesn't always make it the "right" car.

If there is water damage you might as well turn and run. With the rear decklid being like it is, maybe he was hit and just wanted to up grade? You never know. And yes if it were the original deck lid it would say 911 sc not just Carrera.
12k is the MAX for this car. Just seems to have a questionable story, enough for me to pass on.
