Weird gas mileage change

I personally would not use any Pennzoil or Quaker State branded products after testing a few. Same goes with Castrol Syntec 5w50. Some of the lowest Zn and P levels of all the oils I tested. Max Life also has very little Zn and P in it as well. Go figure - you would think you would want added anti-wear additives in a high-mileage formulation.
How about Castrol GTX 20w50 High Mileage?
I personally would not mix my own semi-syn by blending non-syn and syn, unless they were the same brand. Also should add that most semi-syns I tested also had very poor levels of Zn and P.
I'm actually going to start recommending to customers Brad Penn / Penn Grade Racing 20w50 as an alternative to Castrol GTX. Although the TBN isn't much better and zinc and phosphorus levels are about the same, in actual running engines we tested it held it's viscosity better and showed lower levels of wear metals, besting even some of the synthetics we tested. And the price is just right too and comes in cases of 12 qts. There's just something with that green pennsylvania crude :-)
I plan on testing Brad Penn / Penn Grade diesel oil too for those who want a slighty lighter 15w40. I would imagine the results would be just as good as their racing formulation.

Charles,
I did some digging on;
Reduced levels of ZDDP in SM oils - ISSUE or NOT.
It is posted on BITOG, url below and I would like any comments.

I'm going to message the admin and ask for an oil forum to be created.

An oil forum would be great, and to have all the oil related posts from the last few months moved there. Would help solve lots of questions for most.
I for one am going to tell my customers to add a bottle of EOS if using any new CJ-4 diesel oil to bring levels back to what they were before the reformulation, or close to at least.
