Default Any one got a relay lying around ?

Just thought I would ask before I started my exhaustive hunt. I have a 78 and there is suppose to be a seat belt warning relay behind the gas guage . sure enough my seat belt doesn't warn and it does not light up the light. I am sure guys have removed these because of the annoyance factor just as mine was but I would like to have my car with everything working . If anyone has one they could sell me or know of where I could get one I would appreciate it

cheers guys .

Not sure what it is but my seatbelt light comes up intermittently. I just closed my eye on it. I got so many old relay but not P relay . If you can figure out how to get rid of this light, please post.

sure .. just pull the relay out and send it to me ... :-)

I have a 78sc and if I pull out the fuel guage there is the realy sitting right behind it ... well not for me, I just have a relay socket sitting right behind it . I think if you pull the relay you will have no seat belt light or buzz and possibly no reminder if you leave your keys in the ignition ... I think this is only 78 -83 not sure what your car its.

Iceman,
Sorry to propose the obvious, but did you call any of the new parts houses. Start with the Rennlist Sponsors and work towards Pelican if all else fails.
regards,
Steve

Ice,
I can take a photo of mine, and email it to you, but it won't be until the weekend.
I have a 1977 911S, and I think it is probably the same unit. I may even have an old one from an SC, in the spare parts. I will check, when I return from business.

Steve and ..er... Steve

Thanks for the responses

I do most of my checking on the internet and usually don't start calling live until I have exhausted my resources but a good point none the less.
Here is my update .
I took a look at the base of the relay socket with a flashlight and it is the weirdest looking patern I have ever seen . 9 pins with weird configurations. I also scratched through the dust and noticed a very small Audi symbol. hmmmm ... being part detective I went back to ebay and searched for an Audi seatbelt relay. Sure enough there was one on auction about to close. The relay patern when I looked at the picture looked IDENTICLE. I mean what are the odds I would find this . So of course I bid on it . I was hoping someone could give me the number off the relay so I could check but with a day left on the auction I thought it was worth the risk for 10.00. I don't know if you can check it after the auction closes but this is the item number .

8053895150

If someone could look at this pic on ebay and tel me if I am close I would appreciate it. If it fits and works it would be a friken miracle.

Of course by the time it is shipped and picked up it will cost 3 times that but still a good find itf it works..

Thanks Guys ..

What a freakin Miracle .....

The 1995 relay above I got off ebay for 10.00 fits the socket and works perfectly on my 78sc (p/n 4A0 919 439 ). What are the chances of THAT ! .. think I am going to buy a lottery ticket now..incidentally the one I received was marked feb 96 on the box , not the one listed above .. they may have more than one if anyone is interested .. I got it at auction frontier and I got it in 2 days.. yipee..... my car is getting more original everyday .... PS I am not taking the carrera tail off..... lets not get carried away now :-)

Ice,
Just got back to the house and checked the car relay number. I ahave a 77 911S and the pn is 911 618 102 00 also in large letters SSA 5041. The date on the relay in the car is 76. I also have a spare which is dated 82 same part numbers. I guess the stayed the same from mid year to the SC's. If you want this relay, or photos of it just let me know!
PS. I did ops check it and it works just alot more quiet than the one in the car.

Ice, does this relay also give you the key-in warning buzzer and/or the seatbelt warning buzzer or does it only control the seatbelt light on the dash ?

Hi brad

it gives you a key in the ignition chime when you open the door , a seat belt chime for about the first 5 seconds along with the light after ignition on ,then turns off both .. and a door open chime while the engine is running ..

becuase it is a 90's part it is a chime and not an annoying buzzer.. the top of the relay is actually a speaker .. pretty cool ..
