What insurance co. are you guys using for your 911? What's your premium's run? State Farm has been my auto and home for a while. Called for a quote on a 911 Targa '78, and its almost as expensive as my '03 EB Expedition..($1000.00 yr) geesh!! My '32 is thru Grundy World Wide but they dont insure newer than '74 apparently unless its part of a "collection"..

Varies by state and insurer, but I get whacked with a power to weight penalty on my 84 Carrara... its about the same as the '04 BMW and about $400 more than my truck... so that sounds about right to me.

BTW... I use Great American for my other cars and they insured my 79 no problem. Bascially it is a declared value program and they have a maximum mileage limit, car must be stored in a garage, and cannot be your primary vehicle... seems like a good policy to me. If it is just a weekend driver/hobby car.

If you can live with the restrictions Leland West imposes they seem to be a good deal. I was recently quoted $265/Year for 2500 miles/year and $500,000 liability/uninsured motorist with a $5400 deductible in an agreed value policy on my 70S. The agreed value part is very important, as the State Farm antique/classic policy I have on two other cars still requires you, in case of a loss, to prove the car was worth the amount of coverage (you've been paying for!) at the time of the loss.
