Ok. I'm not the biggest led foot around but it just seems wrong that I spend $53 to fill the tank with hightest for my 97nb and even with careful driving, good tires (and pressures), no burning rubber ever (rear tires), and a few spirited twisties on the suburban roads oncce or twice a week, for the life of me, I can't get 200 miles out of the tank. Yes. I know I can afford one and I shouldn't be asking about mileage but I keep feeling like something isn't right. Any "PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS appreciated. I'm amused to see this thread pop up again after over four years. I was just discussing the subject of gas mileage with a new (to me; he's in his 40s) mechanic yesterday. It came up in the context of discussing other cars, but he wasn't surprised when I told him that the last time I monitored gas mileage in my '88 911 (probably when this thread was active last) I was getting 27-28 mpg, and not trying to drive efficiently. That's comparable to my daily driver, a 2006 Saab 9-3, and my two prior cars, both Audi A-4s. Which I find really remarkable. To me, it's one of those things to lord over my wife--I immensely enjoy reminding her that every car I drive gets twice the mileage of the truck I asked her not to lease. Not as much fun at $2.50/gal as $4.00, but still fun.

Combined city/highway (mainly surface) 17 to 19. Highway (with cruise) 24 at 80 mph, and 28 at 92 (yes to both numbers). On the track 12.
