Default Our friend Bruce Anderson to undergo by-pass surgery.

Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 – Heart stopping performance – our friend Bruce Anderson to undergo by-pass surgery.

I just received this e-mail:

“While Bruce Anderson was at Laguna Seca seeing the new Porsche LMP2
car this past weekend, he collapsed and apparently his heart stopped.
An Air Force doc happened to walk by after he went down,
miraculously, and got him the right help. He was taken to a nearby
hospital, and is actually sort of OK. He is being taken up to Kaiser
in SF today, for double bypass surgery tomorrow.

I spoke with Bruce and Stephanie, Bruce is in a relatively good mood,
and he says I should go to the punitentiary for asking if his
conclusion is that the new LMP car showed heart stopping performance.”

Our prayers go out for Bruce and Stephanie, hopefully everything will turn out for the better. Surgery is 7 AM PDT Friday 10/21/05.

I’ll report more tomorrow on Pelican.

Best wishes my friend,
Grady

That's something only a friend can get away with, I would think!

I've enjoyed his book and the words of wisdom contained...best wishes to Bruce for a speedy recovery.

What a great character! One of the finest people I have met in the Porsche world. All the best to Bruce & Stephanie. Thanks for keeping us posted.

I am saddened to hear this news. I first met Bruce at a Rainbonnet Tech Session in Portland in 1988. He has been an unlimited source of Porsche history and tech information in the years I have known him!

I wish him a speedy recovery and best wishes to his family.

Very sad news indeed! I've never had the pleasure of meeting the man but have read him extensively and his advice has helped me out on numerous occasions.

I truely hope everything goes well as he is an icon for the true P-car enthusiast.

Prayers, Karma projection, toasts and good thoughts are needed for him and his family at this time. The man really tells it like it is and is always willing to share his knowledge. Definitely not an excess of folks like him around.

Best wishes for a successful operaton and recovery period.

Barry

Think there is no God? Guess again. I heard what had happened to Bruce through a mutual friend. I went home and emailed him some information that could save his life by reversing his heart disease. Let me back up though. Bruce is a cat lover. I am a cat lover and we have both spoken of our cats together. And I'm sure his cats love him. After I emailed him, I went for a walk around the park for exercise. As I passed a darkened house, a white cat that is normally very shy, when he saw me approaching ran out and rubbed against my leg and meowed. I'm sure that cat is spiritually connected to his "friend" Bruce Anderson and his beloved cats, and was thanking me for trying to help his friend. Hopefully Bruce will survive to enjoy the company of his cats and his Porsche friends a long time into the future.

Been there X2 over the years. I can tell Bruce with modern methods, he will actually feel better a couple of days after the surgery than before. I ferverently hope he suffered minimal heart tissure damage during the episode.

I have Bruc'es book and have used it extensively over the last 15 years. In addition his articles are as informative as they are entertaining.

Our sincerest wishes for a comfortable and fast recovery to a PCA institution.

He's doing very well, according to the similar thread on Pelican.
