Post My first car show, and I won class, 911 Targa

I entered my 1973 911T Targa in a car show in Kentucky this morning. An entire year working on this car obviously paid off. I ended up winning my class. My 911 got her first trophy. Check out the 2 pictures.
I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!!

The paint is a PPG color. The plaque in the trunk describes it as flame red. The car was repainted back around 1983 or 1984. It looks pretty good for a nearly 18 year old paint job.
I have added Brembo cross drilled rotors all around, turbo tie rods, cookie cutter wheels, replaced seats with like new stock seats, white face gages, new carpet in trunk, complete engine rebuild, complete transmission rebuild, complete fuel system replacement, MFI system tuned, adjusted, and syncronized. Targa top has been rebuilt by CarsInc in N.J., Alpine CD unit with 6 speakers, all new seals/weatherstripping, Bilstein shocks, Brand new Yokohama tires, Momo shift ****, center console addition, fiberglass inside door pockets and the list goes on and on.

Thanks for the kind words

Thanks to all for your kind words. Now that I have a taste for car shows I will have to start removing and repainting parts and such. The best part is, I still drive it every nice day that comes along. With less than 98500 original miles and a newly rebuilt motor and trans, I'll be driving her for many, many more years.

Way to go Scott, your car is clean and very tastefully done. The mods on it are subtle and further personalize your ride. Congrats on the win!

Meguires liquid gold, tire magic for the wet look, armoral for the dash and seats, turtle wax carpet shampoo, many many kilowatts of electricity running my buffer. Mainly it was just alot of late hours after the kids and wife went to bed working on the car. The red lacquer refinishing I did 4 days before the show was the extra bit that may have caught an eye or two. It took me almost 8 hours to get all four calipers done. It was all worth it. Now I want to really start detailing the car, engine- every nut and bolt, underside sprayed with Rhino liner (if they can do it), new carpets, new front shocks... This list keeps growing.
I REALLY LOVE THIS CAR !!!!

Cool

Not a chance Mike. I love driving this car too much. If I had wanted something to just look at I would have bought a painting. This work of art was ment for motion. 110 with the top of reminds you why these cars are SO ADDICTIVE!!!
Uhhhhh, how about nearly concours?

Driving your car and entering concours events are not mutually exclusive! We've got a guy in our PCA region with a 73S with 225,000mi who enters almost every concours and wins his class now and again. The car looks fantastic! I regularly finish first or second in my class for concours and you should see the looks I get from the other "Q-tip heads" when I tell them I autocross the car all the time! It's just another way to really enjoy the car.

Thumbs up

Mike, I hear ya with all 6 injectors. I had a chance to take the car out this evening before the rains came. As usual, I came in the house with this stupid grin etched on my face. My wife calls it the "Porsche smirk". Even the bugs so respect and move out of my path. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />
